FAQ & Rules

What is the 90/180 rule?

Non-EU travelers under visa-free regimes or short-stay Schengen visas are allowed to stay in the Schengen Area for a maximum of 90 days in any rolling period of 180 days. This means you look backwards 180 days from each day of your stay to check if you have exceeded the 90-day allowance.

Are entry and exit dates included?

Yes. Under EU border guidelines, any part of a day spent in the Schengen zone counts as a full day of stay. Thus, both the day you enter and the day you exit are fully counted towards your stay, even if you crossed the border right before midnight.

Does this calculator support future stays?

Yes! Our algorithm is designed to project stays. You can add future planned trips, and use the "Future Date Inspector" to check exactly how many days you will have available on any date ahead.
